Most kids are not a fan of green vegetable, especially spinach. But turning it into a smoothie with some of their favourite fruits will cover up any taste of spinach and everyone will be happy, you because you got some greens into your kid’s diet and your kids because they got a yummy treat. This is also a great home remedy for constipation and bloating, so no more tummy trouble for you or your family.
You really can use any combination of fruits and veggies, but I have found that this is a very pleasant tasting smoothie without any taste of spinach. Great for constipation and bloating.
With these great little bags, you can make your own veggie pouches, and freeze them and pull out what you need for the day. No more expensive veggies pouches to buy.
Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup of spinach (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup pineapple (fresh or frozen)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Add enough liquid to cover the fruit & veggies (water, juice, milk. Use a little more if you’re using ALL frozen)
Mix well in the blender or Nutri bullet and enjoy. Makes 2 servings.
You really can use whatever fruit and veggies you want, the goal is to get more veggies into your kid’s diet 🙂
Sometimes I will freeze my fresh spinach before it has a chance to go bad and it freezes great!
