I have so many old magnets from pizza places, restaurants, doctors, old calendars etc… and while I like the purpose the serve for hanging notes, appointment cards, etc. I don’t like the looks of them. So I gave them a face lift with the faces I Love! And I made my own chunky magnets for my fridge.
What you need:
- Picture(s)
- Old magnets
- 5 mm thick foam sheet
- Mod Podge
- Black Sharpie
Here’s how to do it:
- Trim the photo to the size you want
- Trim the magnet to the same size as the photo
- Trim the foam sheet to the same size as the photo & magnet
- Brush Mod Podge on one side of foam, then apply magnet
- Brush Mod Podge on the other side of foam, then apply photo
- Place something heavy on it while it dries. This will give it a good seal & bond
- Use the sharpie to hide the white edges of the photo & magnet that is showing. I also ran the sharpie a crossed the foam so it all blended
- Apply 2-3 coats of Mod Podge on the sides & top
- Mod Podge the sides first then lay magnet a few skewers or pencil so the edges can dry without sticking
That’s it! How easy was that?! And they look so much better!!
